Contemporary III - Stationary Chiropractic Table

**We have indefinitely discontinued our metal table line for the foreseeable future. If you are interested in one of our Contemporary Stationery tables, please call or email Dr. Dennis directly and discuss your needs.

Engineered from the ground up to be the perfect companion to a thriving practice, the Contemporary III has the features and durability required by the most demanding offices. Built out of precision laser cut 7 gauge steel and finished in a scratch resistant, oven-set black powder coat for maximum durability and aesthetics. This sleek table fits right in with any office decor, from modern to bohemian.

Customizable with up to 5 drops to accommodate a range of adjusting techniques. Based on our standard drop system used in our Prestige and Standard line tables, the Contemporary III Table’s newly redesigned drops were built to be even more robust for the high volume practice. Machined out of high density polyethylene, our drop blocks are impact resistant and low friction leading to long service life. Our plungers are precision machined out of a billet of 1018 steel. The result is a crisp and smooth mechanism.

The Contemporary III Stationary table is available with pelvic, lumbar, and thoracic drops. The thoracic and lumbar drops feature our new double hinge system allowing the single thoraco/lumbar cushion to fall at both the front and rear simultaneously. This allows for optimal adjusting of the entire spine C7/T1 - L5/S1.  Both our thoracic and pelvic drops are available with our prop and drop system. This allows the pelvic drop cushion to be tilted so that the front portion is up to 5 inches above the table, which enables patients with large abdomens to comfortably lie prone. The thoracic prop and drop allows the thoracic section to incline up to 45 degrees with the drop being effective up to 20 degrees. This is a great feature for those who require the ability to do antierors on an incline but want the functionality of a full drop table. It is also a wonderful addition for doing seated condyle lifts and rotary breaks.

Our pelvic, lumbar, and thoracic drops are all easily activated using our foot cocking kick drop system. This has the added benefits of no handles on the side of the table to get in the way of side posture adjusting, a longer lever for activating the drop when working on heavier patients, and the elimination of the need to lift your contact point to cock the drop when dropping a patient several times in quick succession.

Our base headpiece features 20 degrees of flexion and extension. There are options to upgrade to a forward drop, forward drop and elevation with straight drop, and forward drop, elevation with straight drop plus lateral bending.

All Contemporary III come standard with a foot extension and knee break. This allows the foot piece of the table to be tilted, taking tension off the hamstrings and allowing for easy leg checks.

How do you pick a table height? The rule of thumb is to measure from the floor to the top of your patella. That measurement provides the most mechanical advantage for doing side posture adjusting. We suggest adding 1 inch to that number if you will be doing a lot of side posture and 2 inches if you will mostly be using the drop to adjust the patient's low back and pelvis.

*For the first six months after delivery of your new stationary table, Sun Chiro Table, at no expense to you, will exchange the legs initially supplied with a set that will make the table a different height. No leg exchange, however, is offered on our skateboard woodwork. For tables with oak legs, you will be required to provide a credit card to keep on file until you have returned the original legs with the supplied pre-paid return label. If oak legs are not returned within 30 days of arrival, your card on file will be charged the total purchase price of $200 per set.

How do you disinfect or clean the tables between patients? We suggest using a solution of 2% common household bleach to water for between patient and daily cleaning. However, Uniroyal, the manufacturer of Naugahyde, suggests that for cleaning during the COVID pandemic that a solution of 10% household bleach to water be used. We caution that using a bleach solution of this concentration requires you to rinse the table with a spray of plain water after cleaning to remove all bleach residue. This will prevent the staining of patients clothes during treatment. Here is a link to the official cleaning guide from the manufacture themselves. Click here for the cleaning guide

How are the drops on your tables as they compare to other table manufacturers? We think that our drops are crisp and fast. The drop blocks are manufactured out of HDPE(High Density Polyethylene) which is a self lubricating plastic. This material works well with the steel drop plungers and does not become grooved with heavy use like aluminum or steel blocks but rather deforms with the plunger as the drop falls. This keeps the drops running like new for many years.

How heavy of a patient are your drops designed to work with? Our drops are designed to work with patient's up to 500lbs. If they do not work with patients of this weight please contact us to get a replacement drop. If your practice will be mostly large patients over 250 lbs, then let us know that and we can build your drops up with springs ideal for larger patients. These springs larger patients do NOT increase the capacity of the drop, rather they make the tension adjustment range more sensitive at the larger end of the scale rather than at the average range of the scale which is more like
125-250 lbs.

What is a “Prop and Drop”? A prop and drop means that a drop cushion can be elevated AND the drop remains fully function throughout the elevated range. When installed on a lumbo/pelvic cushion, the cushion can elevate up to 6 inches and creates the space in front of it for a large abdomen like on a pregnant patient. It is an alternative to an abdominal breakaway.
