FAQ

Have a question not answered below? Contact us and we will be happy to help!

How do you pick a table height? The rule of thumb is to measure from the floor to the top of your patella. That measurement provides the most mechanical advantage for doing side posture adjusting. We suggest adding 1 inch to that number if you will be doing a lot of side posture and 2 inches if you will mostly be using the drop to adjust the patient's low back and pelvis

*For the first six months after delivery of your new stationary table, Sun Chiro Table, at no expense to you, will exchange the legs initially supplied with a set that will make the table a different height. No leg exchange, however, is offered on our skateboard woodwork. For tables with oak legs, you will be required to provide a credit card to keep on file until you have returned the original legs with the supplied pre-paid return label. If oak legs are not returned within 30 days of arrival, your card on file will be charged the total purchase price of $200 per set.

Do the wooden tables squeak? If they do, don't hesitate to contact us to troubleshoot the sound you are hearing. They are designed not to squeak as the frames are "glued and screwed" Once the glue cures, the table frame is essentially one solid piece. Every joint where there is wood-to-wood contact is glued. The other area of concern, the leg attachment points, are secured using 5/16 Hex bolts into t-nuts embedded in the table frame, allowing the legs to be tightened as necessary to remove movement during use.

What is working weight? Is that the weight of the patient? Working weight is defined as the weight of the patient AND the Doctor at thrust.

What are the two cushions I see with the foot extension on the Prestige tables? The foot extension on our Prestige tables uses a removable bolster system. These cushions are covered on the bottom with a non-slip material to be used on the surface of the main table body for patient positioning. Their purpose is to take the tension off the patient's hamstrings while performing a leg check.

How do you disinfect or clean the tables between patients? We suggest using a solution of 2% common household bleach to water for between patient and daily cleaning. However, Uniroyal, the manufacturer of Naugahyde, suggests that for cleaning during the COVID pandemic that a solution of 10% household bleach to water be used. We caution that using a bleach solution of this concentration requires you to rinse the table with a spray of plain water after cleaning to remove all bleach residue. This will prevent the staining of patients clothes during treatment. Here is a link to the official cleaning guide from the manufacture themselves. Click here for the cleaning guide

Can you explain the difference between the default firm foam and the optional medium foam? Our firm foam is actually a 1.5 inch layer of 50lb compression foam which is comfortable for your patient to lie on over a 1 inch layer of 120lb extra firm foam on the bottom. It's like the cushion has an anterior board built in. Your patient can lie prone on it comfortably but you will not have any trouble bringing them to tension and getting a good adjustment. The medium foam is a solid piece of the 50 lb compression foam. It is ideal for doctors doing lower force techniques or where the patient will lie either prone or supine on the table for periods longer than 30 minutes while getting treatment.

How are the drops on your tables as they compare to other table manufacturers? We think that our drops are crisp and fast. The drop blocks are manufactured out of HDPE(High Density Polyethylene) which is a self lubricating plastic. This material works well with the steel drop plungers and does not become grooved with heavy use like aluminum or steel blocks but rather deforms with the plunger as the drop falls. This keeps the drops running like new for many years.

How heavy of a patient are your drops designed to work with? Our drops are designed to work with patient's up to 500lbs. If they do not work with patients of this weight please contact us to get a replacement drop. If your practice will be mostly large patients over 250 lbs, then let us know that and we can build your drops up with springs ideal for larger patients. These springs larger patients do NOT increase the capacity of the drop, rather they make the tension adjustment range more sensitive at the larger end of the scale rather than at the average range of the scale which is more like
125-250 lbs.

What is a “Prop and Drop”? A prop and drop means that a drop cushion can be elevated AND the drop remains fully function throughout the elevated range. When installed on a lumbo/pelvic cushion, the cushion can elevate up to 6 inches and creates the space in front of it for a large abdomen like on a pregnant patient. It is an alternative to an abdominal breakaway.

What's the difference between the full length thoracic drop and the upper thoracic and thoraco/lumbar drops? It's really quite simple. The upper thoracic handle activated drop falls at the front and is effective from C7/T1 down to about T9/T10 and then the thoraco/lumbar kick drop picks up around T10 and is effective through the lumbars. When you add the lumbo/pelvic kick drop to these two drops you have 26 inches of active drop surface. This is a traditional Thompson style setup where you are wanting to mostly do drop work or at least have a drop located here it would augment your adjustment anywhere you would choose to adjust. On the other hand the full length thoracic kick drop is hinged behind the headpiece and falls at the rear in front of the lumbo/pelvic kick drop. The two cocking pedals are close together so that they will allow you to cock both pieces at the same time. It is ideal for full spine dropping, augmenting a side posture adjustment with a drops, and for adjusting the lumbars on smaller patients who would normally have to be moved down on the table to reach the lumbo/pelvic cushion because of their height. It is technically a thoraco/lumbar drop and adds very little energy to your adjustment above about T8.
