It is April 3rd. “Tariff Liberation” day has come and gone in the USA. While the suspense is over, the ultimate final result will still not be seen for several weeks. We know as fact that there are other table manufacturers who raised prices on April 1st - no joke. Reiterating our message of last week, we will continue to take a wait and see approach until the end of this month. All pricing will remain unchanged for now. All quotes already issued will be honored until 4/30/2025. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor this developing situation.

Tariffs: We will start with the bottom line. Any country with a tariff on a US good was awarded a reciprocal tariff of at least 10% yesterday. It waits to be seen if this results in affected countries either raising their existing tariffs or imposing new ones on US goods. Updating form last week, we have seen increases in lumber, steel and aluminum prices for our raw materials. Our hope is that countries will bilaterally drop their tariffs altogether and overall prices might actually fall. Earlier this week we saw Israel drop all duties on US goods. Hopefully this example will be repeated.
Tariffs Into Canada: We have had shipped multiple tables into Canada in the past two weeks. There has been no change in the tariff situation. No tariffs have been collected on our tables. The harmonized code to import tables into Canada is 9402.90.00.90. This is the code for a medical examination table “other”. Right now, the official Canadian tariff tracker shows no tariff for this code on importation. If you purchase a table(s) from us and are charged a tariff after reading this, we will share the tariff cost 50/50 with you.
Table Quotes: Table quotes that are already issued, or issued anytime between now and the end of the month will be honored until 4/30/2026. In our previous email we indicated that quotes would be good for 30 days. Right now it looks most prudent to say that all pricing will have to be looked at again at May 1st. Hopefully, the picture will be clear by then and we can set something in place that will last until the end of the year.
Suppliers: Just to confirm what we said last week still stands. Right now we are experiencing NO shortages or supply issues. We have also NOT been advised by any of our suppliers of any anticipated shortages or supply disruptions.
International Shipping: We are open for International business! DB Schenker will be picking up four shipments from us this week. Three are going to Australia and one to Singapore. We are not having any issues with moving the freight. It can still be a bit slow as economy space on the airlines is still limited. However, it does seem to have normalized quite a bit the last couple of weeks. For all international orders we will be shipping using the Harmonized code 9402.90.00.90 which is a medical table other. In almost all cases, medical equipment should be exempt from tariffs as is the current case in Canada. We will monitor this on a per country basis as the picture becomes more clear. If you have any questions about tariffs and your country, please contact us and together we will research what might apply.
Signing off this week, we want to again assure customers of our commitment to keep prices low and to not overreact to short term news cycles. We will continue to source US supplies whenever possible to reduce our exposure to tariffs. Next week we will reach out again to advise you of any changes.
